Waipapa marae AGM post-poned

In light of the current outbreak of COVID in the Waikato, the Trust has agreed to postpone the Annual General Meeting scheduled to take place in Hamilton, on 30 October.

Whilst there is uncertainty about where the Waikato and especially Hamilton will be in three (3) weeks’ time, the Trust is obliged to put at the forefront of our decisions, the health and safety of our beneficiaries.

We do have options. The simplest is to delay until the threat of COVID lifts, and it is safe for us to congregate together OR we could conduct a remote AGM.  The latter will require some time to organise, especially as we need to conduct elections for new Trustees and Marae Committee members online.

In the background, while we are doing everything to keep ourselves safe, we are still concerned that many of our whaanau have not been vaccinated.  We cannot emphasise how important it is that we all get fully vaccinated and that we follow the Alert Level rules. Delta is a silent killer and it does not distinguish who it attacks!

In the meantime, the most pressing information as to what is happening on the Marae will continue to be posted on our official website www.waipapamarae.nz
