Teenaa koutou katoa,

For any marae participating in Te Whakakitenga’s insurance scheme and who has suffered damage in this event, claim forms and process details will be issued to you by our kaimahi in the next few days.

In the meantime, we have already contacted our insurers and there are two cleaning companies to call - they will provide driers for areas that need to be dried of dampness and water:

This will be a claim against the insurance. You are encouraged to take photos of any damage and catalogue the damage as best as you can at this time.

Engari, marae affected by flooding and events are urged to stay safe and take advice from emergency responders. All relevant contact details to request help, report damage and receive updates are available here https://www.aucklandemergencymanagement.org.nz/major-incident/flooding-2023.
