Kauri Protection Hui

A new plan was implemented last year for the protection of Kauri.  The new National Pest Management Plan (NPMP) was put into operation on 2 August 2022.  This means there are now strict rules around the protection of Kauri on Public Conservation land.  Doc has called for a hui with Mana Whenua around the Kāwhia harbour to be held at Te Kauri Lodge - 3679 State Highway, 31 Kāwhia Road, Hauturu 3878 on Sunday 18 June 2023 | 10:00 am to 2 pm.  This is an opportunity for Mana Whenua and Doc to plan how we go about Kauri protection in Te Kauri Park going forward into the future.

Prior to arrival, please ensure that your footwear, clothing and any walking equipment are dirt-free and disinfected if possible. Additional hygiene protocols on site will apply which will be provided for.
