Waipapa Poukai 2022

With the rapid spread of Omicron infections up at 23, 000 + this month as well as Waipapa being closed as an official construction site, the Tekau mā rua commemorated our poukai this year.  Six representatives for King Tuheitia Potatau Te Wherowhero VII attended the Waipapa poukai including the King himself and six representatives for Waipapa marae.  They were:

Jack Te Papi Cunningham, Nick Tuwhāngai, Haki Porima, Bessie Porima, Rangi Cunningham and Horahaere Scott.

King Tuheitia was accompanied by his private secretary, Te Ngira Simmonds, chief orator Rāhui Papa, Āwhina Uruamo, the King's health specialist and nurse, Ray Ray Jones, Protocol Officer and Julie Wade, Te Kei o Te Waka o Tainui.
