Waipapa Marae Online AGM 2021 set down for Saturday 5 February, 2022 has been deferred

E ngā kaipānga o te marae o Waipapa, he mihi tēnei ki a koutou ngā kaipōti me ngā reo tuari o te marae.

This is to give notice that Waipapa Marae Trust has determined to defer the 2020 / 2021 AGM, scheduled for Saturday 5 February 2022.

There are several factors that have influenced our decision:

The impact of COVID and an anticipated flood of OMICRON across Aotearoa, has changed the way we conduct our business.

We are concerned that the move overnight from a face-to-face AGM to a remote meeting might have disadvantaged those beneficiaries who do not have the capability of accessing an online facility.

Perhaps most importantly, is our King’s desire for Waipapa Marae to host a Poukai on 12 March 2022; the result being the Trust would be
convening two major events (AGM and Poukai) over a five (5) week period.

In making the above decision, we have sought provisional advice from the Māori Land Court and the Trust’s legal advisor.
The plan moving forward is to convene both AGMs together for the financial years ending 31 March 2021 and 31 March 2022, sometime in August / September of this year 2022.
