Update for kawe mate and poukai programme

Here’s another daily draft update for the poukai.

First up our kawe mate.

Change of plan this year as part of our COVID 19 restrictions.

For our whānau pani, the kawe mate is on Friday morning.  You will come onto the marae with the King and his manuwhiri. 

In light of our tight restrictions around COVID 19, the King’s office has kindly requested we only have one whakaeke this year to ensure everyone attending the poukai front and back of marae, is temperature tested on the day for COVID 19.

Secondly,  for everyone who hasn’t checked out our website / Facebook page, here’s another draft update for the poukai programme on Friday.  We will amend the programme as necessary:

5-8:30 am     COVID 19 temperature test for ringa wera and kaimahi

7am              Flag raising karakia

8:30-10am    COVID 19 temperature test for manuwhiri and whānau pani

10am            Whakaeke

11:30am       Hākari

12:30pm       King meets with trustees

1pm               King plants commemoration tree on marae

2pm              Flag lowering karakia
